FAQs
Most of these questions come from customers that attend art fairs that I am involved with.
If you have a question please email me it, I will answer it.
If enough people ask the same thing you might end up
seeing the answer posted here.
How do you make the beaded jewelry?
The sculptural jewelry I make is made using a stitch called freeform peyote. I use different sized beads, that is what gives it the sculptural feel. If you use the same size beads the piece will be flat. The bead embroidery jewelry is stitched onto UltraSuede and a backing of stiffening, it is then backed with another piece of UltraSuede.
How can you see those little beads?
I use both reading glasses and a good strong light. My light has a color balanced bulb, so not only do I see the true colors it makes me feel like I am sitting in the sun!
Do you accept commissions?
Yes I do. There is nothing more fun that making a piece of jewelry that will be worn for a special occasion. You will be involved in all stages of designing. From choosing beads to approving the artwork. Weddings, charity balls, award ceremonies, they can all be enhanced with a one of a kind piece of jewelry made especially for you.
Why does your jewelry cost so much?
Mainly it is the time you are paying for. Bracelets can take from 8 - 12 hours. Necklaces can have between 60 - 100 hours in them. Remember also these are one of a kind pieces, you will not see another one anywhere else.
Do you give classes?
Yes I do. At this time I am not connected to any bead store, the classes are either held at my home or yours. I teach flat and sculptural peyote, an bead embroidery from beginners to advanced. If you own a store and are inerested in having me teach there please contact me for the details/class descriptions.
Do you have a return policy?
Yes. If you are buying off the web there is a 7 day return policy . Return the piece, insured, within that time period and I will credit your charge card. I do not accept returns on commissioned pieces.
